Speaker 5: Oh, that's so good. Can't quite say the name of the title on the air, but we'll call it P Drunk Outside of Bars Leaving Voicemails. The band is The Gray Curtain, and we've got Troy and Dennis here with us in studio from the band. We're going to talk with them in a couple minutes, and they're going to play live, which is really cool, which will be a first for them on the show. But welcome, everybody. We've entered hour number three, Numero Tres of Matt Connerton Unleashed, and we are live from the studios of WMNH 95.3 FM in glorious Manchester, New Hampshire.
Speaker 5: And of course, you can stream the show from anywhere. Go to mattconnerton.com slash live or check out the new site mattconnertonunleashed.com for all of your live streaming options, social media links, contact info, show archives, et cetera, et cetera. And of course, our amazing list of sponsors here at WMNH, which we're about to be adding one, but I will have more about that next week. But again, if you are listening live today, it's Saturday, September 12, 2026. And let's see. So we'll get these guys in here.
Speaker 5: So we've got Dennis is with us. Hello, Dennis.
Speaker 12: Hey, Matt.
Speaker 6: Good to be back.
Speaker 5: And now this is always the real test because so Troy is over there, but I got to bring these mics up in a way that... He's going to work for us because he's playing guitar, so we've got him on a little bit of a different setup. Hey, Troy.
Speaker 13: Hey, how's it going? Thanks for having us, man.
Speaker 5: Yeah, you sound good.
Speaker 13: Thank you.
Speaker 5: Actually, I'm going to turn this up and turn that down. And then can you strum that guitar a little bit for me? Ooh, that sounds nice.
Speaker 12: It does.
Speaker 10: Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5: Glad we plugged that in so part of the reason you guys are here of course is next weekend is Swarmy Fest yeah and it's early this year usually it's in November this year we got September September 19th at Jewel so you guys are playing of course and excited did you guys play Swarmy Fest before I can't.
Speaker 6: Remember no I was in attendance right like a year or two ago when it was over at Tapello oh okay But no, we've never performed Swarmy Fest. Yeah, this is our first year.
Speaker 14: Wow.
Speaker 5: Cool, cool. Yeah, really looking forward to it. Jenny and I will be there, of course. And this show is one of the sponsors of the event. And I should give people just quickly... I'm dying to hear you guys play, but I should give people quickly the lineup. So, of course, it is at Jewel Music Venue, 61 Canal Street. And, you know, of course, it won't mean anything to people who are just listening to the show who don't know the area. But it's literally across the street from the radio station here over at Jewel.
Speaker 5: Great, great venue. Doors open at 7. So we got Sepsis, PH, Teak Sarah. I'm sure I'm not saying that anywhere near correctly. The Gray Curtain, of course, you guys. Grim the Acronym, Elder P. Sloan, who were on the show with us recently, Singe, and 3FD. And, of course, Loud Entertainment is officially the promoter. And, of course, our friends in Sepsis who put on the show and will be headlining that night. And it's a lot of fun. So I want to get lots of people there. And I think last year it might have sold out.
Speaker 5: I'm not sure. But, yeah, it's always really good. Oh, also, Dancers, the official Swarmy Fest Dancers show. The Blood Witch and Reminisce. Wait, am I saying that right? Yeah, I think so. It's just Reminisce, but just spelled differently. I think they were there last year, too. What's new with you guys? What's been going on with The Grey Curtain? Anything specific we should know about?
Speaker 6: Just a whole lot of writing.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 13: Continuing on getting this album together.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 13: We're making pretty good progress, I think. I mean, we got, like, pretty much, like, The bones are there for all the songs. We just need to kind of build it up more completely.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Speaker 6: All right. There's a few songs that we've written quite recently that we're very excited for just to be able to play out live, let alone for people to be able to stream it. on like Spotify or anything like that we're very excited for these tunes yeah yeah.
Speaker 13: I was definitely excited to you know for this interview specifically to like you know bring something new oh to the table because it's I mean it's always a great time to come here but it's kind of going to be talking about the same things that we always talk about you know Show you guys what we're doing.
Speaker 5: No, I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Oh, and we were talking too off air. So this is officially you're now in the five-timers club on the show.
Speaker 6: Yeah, I remember you bringing it up last time. I was like, no, no, we need one more.
Speaker 5: I forgot to bring a jacket for you guys.
Speaker 6: One of those golf jackets.
Speaker 5: I don't know what you would even do, though, because you'd have to do this, two of you. We'd share it. Because we only supply one jacket per guest.
Speaker 6: You know, we do like the Siamese twins thing.
Speaker 10: Right, right.
Speaker 6: He's in one sleep, I'm in the other.
Speaker 5: It's fine.
Speaker 6: It's good.
Speaker 5: Well, I'm dying to hear you guys play.
Speaker 14: Awesome.
Speaker 5: What are you going to share with us today?
Speaker 13: First song is called, is it Make Me Whole?
Speaker 12: Yep.
Speaker 13: We're going to be doing, it's a brand new one.
Speaker 5: So this is a new one. All right. Brand new from Sepsis. Live in studio. All right.
Speaker 6: Great curtain. Great curtain.
Speaker 5: Oh, the great curtain. I'm sorry. Sepsis, see, I'm thinking about next week. And Sepsis has never played live in studio.
Speaker 8: Oh, really?
Speaker 5: No, they never have. But until today, neither do you guys. So who knows what the future may bring? The great curtain, live in studio.
Speaker 6: Here we go.
Speaker 10: All right.
Speaker 7: Feeling cold, broken and paralyzed. Strings of a violin play.
Speaker 4: Me out of this place.
Speaker 7: Drink to the violin. Scoring the violins. Prelude the silence. So ring in the violins Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die.
Speaker 6: Let him run from the gun.
Speaker 7: Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die.
Speaker 15: Dreaming of when I was awake Fearing one day I'd sleep forever Dreaming of when I was awake Fearing one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 16: Feeling the violence Scoring the violence Reload the silence Bring in the.
Speaker 7: Violence Let him run, run the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run, run the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run, run the gun Let him cry.
Speaker 10: Let him die Let him.
Speaker 8: Run, run the gun Let him die, let him die.
Speaker 15: Dreaming of when I was awake, hearing one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 11: Dreaming of when I was awake.
Speaker 15: Here in one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 3: We love a.
Speaker 7: Violent Scoring the violence.
Speaker 17: Bringing the silence To ring in the violence Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let.
Speaker 7: Him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the.
Speaker 4: Gun Let him cry, let him die.
Speaker 5: Nice. That's awesome. The Gray Curtain with us live in studio. So that's a brand new one, huh? Yeah.
Speaker 13: I don't know if you can see how shaking I am.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 6: I was going to say, that is brand new out of the oven. You can tell because there were a couple of moments where I was like, what's the lyric?
Speaker 5: Hold on.
Speaker 6: Let me.
Speaker 5: Yeah. That's all right.
Speaker 6: But yeah, we played that out once, I think.
Speaker 13: Yeah, once at a. Was that Kodo and Lowell?
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 13: Like the last show that we ever did.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Yeah, that was a good show, though.
Speaker 13: I think they closed because of that song.
Speaker 5: No, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 14: Oh, no.
Speaker 6: I think they were... Yeah, it seems to be a trend. You know, we play, the place closes down.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: No. Well, very good. So what should we know about the new album? I know we talked about it last time, but in terms of the theme and the story, is it a continuation of The previous one, or.
Speaker 6: Sort of?
Speaker 13: It's all kind of like interweaving stories within the universe, yeah.
Speaker 12: Yep. Okay.
Speaker 6: Basically, the first album, Shadow of a Man, was about Nathan Knoth, who dives into a world of addiction and depression after his wife goes missing and is presumed dead. The second album is about a local florist who is... for all intents and purposes, drugged and begins to hear the voice of his since past wife telling him to bury the women of the town into the ground so she may rise from the soil. It's one for the kids. And then this new one, the storyline is basically the mayor of the town that all of these characters are trapped in.
Speaker 6: Uh, you know, basically out of pure boredom, uh, gives two killers that he knows very well. One is an assassin who is kind of under his payroll and the other is a, uh, a killer of vengeance. He's trying to find the murderer of his family that put, also put him in a coma.
Speaker 10: Hmm.
Speaker 6: And when he wakes up, he is trapped in the town of Apathy. Everything that he loved is gone. So he sort of becomes the monster. And Shoal gives him a list. Shoal being the name of the demon mayor of the town of Apathy. And each list has ten names on it. And kind of in this nice little way, the album is plan to be a double album for this reason. One album's going to be based on one killer going through their list, and the story of them going through each person and the story of why each person is on the list and everything.
Speaker 6: and the second album will be about the other and okay and it all kind of culminates in what i i i honestly absolutely love the way that this story ends um you know the The last album was very, I think, M. Night Shyamalan type of twist ending. But this is... Because I'm such a movie buff, I love stories, I love movies, I love theater. And when we put out the first album, it was kind of a melodrama. Very Leaving Las Vegas. The second album was... more akin to an a24 film where like you know like midsummer or uh hereditary heretic and then this album's going to be more akin to a john woo uh action film starring like bruce willis okay you know like back in the 90s yeah uh i'm i'm really looking forward to uh.
Speaker 13: The way I see it, it's kind of like falling down and Kill Bill kind of together.
Speaker 6: Falling down. You know, I wouldn't have even thought of that.
Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6: Falling down. I'm going home.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 13: Someone just having the worst imaginable time.
Speaker 6: Yeah. You know what?
Speaker 10: Yeah.
Speaker 6: He is sort of like Michael Douglas in that film.
Speaker 13: Yeah.
Speaker 5: So do you have any kind of an ETA on.
Speaker 5: Probably not, right?
Speaker 14: No.
Speaker 5: Sometime next year, do you think?
Speaker 6: That's what I'm hoping.
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6: I'm hoping... Because it was not planned this way, but it was kind of serendipitous. Both albums in the past were released in October.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Speaker 6: So I'm hoping that this album is also out. in October, whether that be next year or the year after. We're a quintessential October kind of band. With our stage show and the way that we present ourselves, we love the fall. We love, especially in New England, being a New England band, the fall is just the best.
Speaker 13: Love the spooky time. As soon as September 1st hit, we were like, get the Halloween decorations out.
Speaker 6: Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 12: Help.
Speaker 5: I hate it.
Speaker 10: Oh, no. I do.
Speaker 6: I really do.
Speaker 5: Oh, how can you hate it? Because summer is my favorite time of year.
Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
Speaker 5: And I always hate to see it go away.
Speaker 13: Yeah. That is the thing. It's like winter is coming.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: That's why I hate it.
Speaker 6: The only month I absolutely hate living up here is February.
Speaker 2: Really?
Speaker 10: Yeah.
Speaker 6: That's it.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 6: You will be hard-pressed to see the gray curtain plate anywhere.
Speaker 14: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Up here in February. It's like, nope, nope, I'm going to be hibernating. There are times where I won't even leave the house. If there's a new video game or a new series or whatnot, right now I'm way behind because it finished a long time ago, but I am just binge-watching Boardwalk Empire because I love Steve Buscemi.
Speaker 5: Yeah, me too. I've never seen the series, but I've always heard that. People have always told me I'd really like it.
Speaker 6: Oh, it's great. It's basically, if you've watched one HBO series in the last 10 years, I could say it's like Game of Thrones during the Prohibition era. And I'd be right. But I could also say it's like any other HBO series where it's like, five or six different storylines happening at the same time. There's murder, there's theft, there's conniving characters sneaking behind everybody's back. It's a lot of intrigue. It's awesome.
Speaker 5: I'd probably like that. Do you guys want to play another one?
Speaker 10: Yeah, sure.
Speaker 6: Absolutely.
Speaker 5: So if you're just joining us, we have the Gray Curtain here with us, live in studio.
Speaker 13: There's another new one. Another brand new one. A brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 5: All right.
Speaker 6: We only played this once, and that was last weekend?
Speaker 14: Yes.
Speaker 5: Oh, okay. This is very new.
Speaker 10: Yes.
Speaker 5: All right. I just want to make sure.
Speaker 14: Ah.
Speaker 10: There's an angel in white stands in the light I can see her I hear her singing.
Speaker 7: Oh happy day, oh happy day When she rushes to me.
Speaker 6: She can see.
Speaker 3: I'm broken Do you.
Speaker 6: Ask me, sir?
Speaker 8: Do you believe in God?
Speaker 7: I used to see God's face in the eyes of the one I treasured.
Speaker 6: But she left me broken.
Speaker 8: So did he.
Speaker 7: Oh, the disdain that I feel for God passed behind.
Speaker 18: A thin facade.
Speaker 6: So I say, as.
Speaker 3: Long as I could walk, I've been running.
Speaker 7: As long as I could climb, I've.
Speaker 6: Been falling down.
Speaker 7: As long as I could see, I've been blinded. As long as I could love, I've been full of pain. And yet I cling.
Speaker 6: One brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 3: Guitar solo guitar solo.
Speaker 10: Storm clouds.
Speaker 7: Started circling around above us So I said, Angel This time you went home There are plenty of others who could use your faith.
Speaker 6: And kindness.
Speaker 10: I am broken.
Speaker 6: I can't be saved.
Speaker 7: So she bowed her head in the pouring rain Prayed to God.
Speaker 15: To ease my.
Speaker 8: Pain So I said.
Speaker 7: As long as I could walk I've been running As long as I could climb, I've been falling down As long as I could see, I've been blinded.
Speaker 6: As long as.
Speaker 7: I could love, I've been full of hate And yet I cling to one brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 3: The world upon my shoulders, light above my head.
Speaker 7: The world upon my shoulders, light above my head. A world upon my shoulders A world upon my shoulders A world upon my shoulders.
Speaker 15: A world upon my shoulders A world upon my shoulders.
Speaker 7: As long as I could walk, I've been running As long as I could climb.
Speaker 4: I've been falling down.
Speaker 7: As long as I could see.
Speaker 15: I've been blinded.
Speaker 7: As long as I could love, I've been full of hate. And yet I drink the one brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 5: Wow, that is beautiful.
Speaker 6: Thank you.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. If you're just joining us, the Gray Curtain is here with us live in studio, and that's a hell of a song. That's really good.
Speaker 13: Thank you so much.
Speaker 5: Absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 6: I mentioned this at Cellar, but that was years and years in the making of my relatives, especially my mother, asking me why I don't write anything happy.
Speaker 5: Oh, no kidding.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: That's about as close to happy as I can write.
Speaker 13: Happy adjacent.
Speaker 6: Happy adjacent.
Speaker 13: There's some major chords in there.
Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Now, is that one that you've recorded yet?
Speaker 6: We have not recorded yet. Okay. We have not had a chance to get into the studio, but... Yeah. Through the help of various sources, we know where we're going to be recording. We know... like who's going to be recording us. And, uh, we're, we're honestly, we're like, we're at that point where it's like, we're getting things in order to, uh, to get the new album prepped and ready to be recorded. But, you know, there's still, uh, there's still some writing to do. There's still like, you know, some parts to write and take out and, you know, reformulate and whatnot.
Speaker 6: Um, cause we don't, And it was the same with the last lineup. If anything feels half-assed, we don't put it on the album.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: And we have to be proud of each and every track, because if any track falters as far as the quality of the album, it also... takes away from the story that we're telling. It also takes away from the performance when we're on stage. Yeah. So, um, you know, we, I would say like every song that we've written so far, we're very, like very excited about. We're very proud of.
Speaker 1: Good.
Speaker 13: Absolutely.
Speaker 10: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Whether they be, uh, you know, four, four, you know, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, you know, pop song, or whether they have, like, eight different parts that, you know, that would make Maynard James Keenan go, guys, guys. Yeah, yeah. Well, very good.
Speaker 5: Well, Troy, so you have another guitar.
Speaker 13: Yes, I did a costume change.
Speaker 5: Excellent, excellent. Well, in that case, I think we should hear another live one.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 5: The Gray Curtain is here with us live in studio. What are you going to play?
Speaker 13: We're going to go with Short Term Solution, I think.
Speaker 18: Okay.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I know this song.
Speaker 6: This was my brother's favorite song. Oh, no kidding. When he was on his deathbed, even when the nurses were trying to tend to him, he would stop them and tell them, yeah, I'll be right with you, but listen to my brother. Listen to this song.
Speaker 13: That my brother wrote.
Speaker 14: Wow.
Speaker 10: Wow.
Speaker 6: I miss them every day.
Speaker 10: You're on?
Speaker 12: Nice.
Speaker 5: There we go. Yeah.
Speaker 13: Hold on. There was something with this guitar that, like, the lower string is a little thumpy.
Speaker 6: Oh.
Speaker 13: Let's go down.
Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: No worries.
Speaker 3: Let's go down.
Speaker 13: Do some adjustments here, sorry.
Speaker 5: Yeah, no. Not at all.
Speaker 6: We'll be right back after these technical difficulties.
Speaker 5: Sorry.
Speaker 6: Yeah. He was a big influence on me. Honestly, he never had a chance to see me perform.
Speaker 5: Oh, no kidding.
Speaker 6: He basically had to go from videos. He saw me performing choruses and things like that, but especially not with this band. He was as red and Shawshank would say he was institutionalized the majority of his life. So anytime that he would be released from prison, he would do something to go back.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Speaker 6: You know, he had a very hard life. But, you know, I didn't even write this song for him. It was based on me. But the fact that he loved it so much means so much to me. So anytime that we play it, I have to say it was his favorite.
Speaker 14: Wow.
Speaker 6: Okay.
Speaker 14: Okay.
Speaker 3: I don't wanna write I don't wanna hold.
Speaker 7: I don't want to rhyme I don't want to code
Speaker 7: I don't want to roll with the punches like the others do I don't need to hear your opinion on my life I can't seem to find motivation.
Speaker 8: To leave this room, no I just need shelter from the.
Speaker 7: Outside God set me free from this insanity One more round and I'm on my way I just need it.
Speaker 6: Somewhere to hide.
Speaker 7: Feels like it's raining every day. I forget how the sunshine feels now.
Speaker 12: One more round, bartender. One more round. Give me one more round.
Speaker 6: One more round.
Speaker 3: One more round.
Speaker 7: There is a need to look eye to eye with.
Speaker 18: The problem in the far room mirror.
Speaker 6: I'm too ashamed.
Speaker 8: To face.
Speaker 10: Him.
Speaker 18: I don't understand the dilemma.
Speaker 4: With this world around.
Speaker 8: Me, I just can't take.
Speaker 18: All the stress anymore. I can't seem to find motivation to leave this stool no more high.
Speaker 10: Me.
Speaker 18: I need to resign.
Speaker 7: God set me free from this insanity One more round and I'm on my way I.
Speaker 15: Just needed somewhere to hide It feels like it's.
Speaker 11: Raining every day.
Speaker 6: I forgot how the sunshine feels now. One more round, bartender.
Speaker 8: One more round.
Speaker 6: Give me.
Speaker 8: One more round.
Speaker 3: Thank you. God set me free From this insanity One more round.
Speaker 7: On my way I just needed somewhere to hide. It feels like.
Speaker 18: It's raining every day.
Speaker 4: I forget how the sunshine fails now. One more round. Bartender, one more round. Give me one more round. One more round. One more round.
Speaker 5: Oh my God. That's so good. The gray curtain here with us live in studio. Great job guys.
Speaker 6: Thank you.
Speaker 15: Thank you.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. Absolutely.
Speaker 6: I've been over here afraid I'm like crackling the mic.
Speaker 5: So I'm like, no, you're doing great though.
Speaker 6: You're doing great.
Speaker 10: All right.
Speaker 5: I wish everyone who sings like you knew how to do that. Not everyone who sings like you does.
Speaker 6: I've had some real drill sergeant, uh, voice instructors and, uh, uh, voice teachers, uh, Yeah, basically, like, do this with me a lot.
Speaker 5: Right.
Speaker 6: You know, if I slouch, like, I'm pretty sure I am just being, like, in the position that I am.
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6: Like, I can still feel my chorus teacher, Mr. Adam Kearns. If you're out there, Mr. Adam Kearns, I, you know,
Speaker 6: I still remember any time that I would slouch in any way, pressing on my stomach, pushing on my back.
Speaker 12: Yep.
Speaker 6: Good yeah yeah he was a good man.
Speaker 5: Yeah excellent excellent uh the gray curtain is here with us live in studio and they will be at swarmy fest uh coming up on saturday the 19th at a jewel music venue and uh we always look forward to swarmy fest every year um do you guys want to uh before time gets short do you want to play one more yeah yeah i'm i'm dying i'm dying to hear another one i'm down for one more yeah you guys want to do one more yeah we can do another.
Speaker 13: One yeah we got a cover that we can do?
Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 13: Do you want to do that?
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Let's do that.
Speaker 14: All right.
Speaker 6: What is it? Uh, go ahead.
Speaker 13: Uh, Oh, my God. Mad Season.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: I was going to say, not Alice in Chains.
Speaker 13: Not Alice in Chains. Mad Season, River of Deceit.
Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
Speaker 5: I haven't heard that song in probably a couple decades, literally. Great song, though. Great choice.
Speaker 13: We broke this one out a couple times, and people are like, oh, my God.
Speaker 10: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Why don't you guys play that all the time?
Speaker 5: Because they only did the one album, right?
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Because they were a super group, and they just, yeah, super groups usually only do one album. Usually, yeah.
Speaker 6: It seems to be the trend with a lot of the covers that are being thrown around in our band.
Speaker 7: Really?
Speaker 6: Oh, yeah. Like, we're all like, what was the other one that was brought up recently? Oh, Temple of the Dog.
Speaker 5: Oh, really? Yeah.
Speaker 6: I was like, yeah, yeah, we'll do a Temple of the Dog song. Absolutely.
Speaker 5: Yeah, I can imagine you guys doing Hunger Strike.
Speaker 18: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6: Especially, like, with Sean and Troy's, like, harmonies with me. Yeah. I'm looking forward to doing stuff like that.
Speaker 5: Yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 10: No doubt.
Speaker 5: We're at the Gray Curtain live in studio.
Speaker 13: All right.
Speaker 10: All right.
Speaker 3: Thank you. My pain Is so frozen At.
Speaker 7: Least So the prophet says, I could either burn or
Speaker 7: cut up my pride and buy some time. A head full of ice is the weight tied to my waist. The river of the sea goes down.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 15: The only direction that slows us down.
Speaker 4: Down, oh down.
Speaker 13: Down, oh down.
Speaker 8: Down, oh down.
Speaker 3: Down, oh down. My pain is self-chosen.
Speaker 13: At least.
Speaker 7: So the prophet says, mm-hmm. I could either drown.
Speaker 8: Or pull up my skin.
Speaker 15: And swim to shore. Now I have grown.
Speaker 3: A beautiful shell for all to see.
Speaker 8: The river of.
Speaker 15: The sea goes down.
Speaker 9: Yeah, the old.
Speaker 7: Man directs and it throws us down.
Speaker 13: Down, oh down.
Speaker 10: Down, oh down.
Speaker 7: Down oh down Down.
Speaker 5: Oh down.
Speaker 7: My pain is self-closing.
Speaker 3: Our pain is self-closing Down, oh down Down, oh down.
Speaker 5: I've got chills, guys. That was amazing. I did not expect that. That was a really, really cool surprise. If you're just joining us, we have the Gray Curtain here with us live in the studio. And like I said, I haven't heard that song in a really long time, but that was fantastic.
Speaker 13: Love that one.
Speaker 12: Absolutely.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. So before we run out of time, so two things. One is, of course, we want to remind everybody about Swarmy Fest coming up Saturday the 19th. And obviously, you guys will be there. Doors open at 7 at Jewel Music Venue at 61 Canal Street, right across the street, actually. which is cool because I just park over here and walk over. But don't tell anybody.
Speaker 13: It's definitely going to be fun. We've played with 3FD and Grimm before. I love Grimm.
Speaker 6: I love Grimm.
Speaker 13: Shout out to Devin.
Speaker 5: So the thing about Grimm, the acronym, we were supposed to have them on the show recently, and they canceled because I guess one of the guys is leaving or did leave.
Speaker 13: Devin, I think, was doing stuff with Young Other on tour with Lacey Sturm.
Speaker 10: Oh, okay.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 13: I'm friends with all those guys.
Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah. In the loop on that, but yeah.
Speaker 6: Blame excuse.
Speaker 13: I know, right?
Speaker 5: So I was told, I mean, I don't know if this still holds true, and you probably know better than me that Grimm is, after the show, they're taking a break?
Speaker 13: I'm not too sure about that, but I do know that Devin is kind of going full in with, we're not full in, but like, more involved with a young other so gotcha gotcha i would assume yeah that explains it i don't want to speak for him but that's.
Speaker 6: Yeah yeah and then you know 3fd we did a show in maine with those guys uh what two years ago uh yeah like two years yeah it was two years ago over at um charlie's hill charlie's hill.
Speaker 5: Thank you yeah yeah Cool. Yeah, I haven't seen them. I'm not familiar with them at all, actually.
Speaker 6: Yeah, they're good.
Speaker 13: They're a fun group of guys.
Speaker 5: Elder P. Sloan we had on the show recently. They were a lot of fun.
Speaker 6: They were really cool. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the bands that I haven't heard.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 6: You know, I'm always interested in checking out the other bands. Sepsis and Grey Curtain, like, we've played a lot of shows on, like, we were on the same show. we were on like the same set.
Speaker 5: Right.
Speaker 2: Right.
Speaker 6: But you know, it's like they would play this stage, you know, in this room and then we'd play this stage in this room and our camps never really intersected until probably a year or two ago.
Speaker 7: Yes.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: So, uh, yeah, we're, uh, we're looking forward to, I mean, we've only played the jewel once and that was a great time.
Speaker 10: Oh yeah.
Speaker 5: That was the first time we saw you.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: It was a jewel.
Speaker 10: Yeah.
Speaker 14: Yep.
Speaker 10: Yep.
Speaker 12: Yep.
Speaker 6: That was a, that was a good time. I, I mean, nine times out of ten, any time that we do, like, a show for Justin, Justin Marcotte, you know, we end up having a good time.
Speaker 13: Yeah. It's a great band.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 6: Bands that we get along with, bands that, you know, we like musically.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 6: But then again, that's not exactly a high bar given the scene and the talent in it.
Speaker 12: Oh, yeah.
Speaker 7: Yeah.
Speaker 5: So much great talent here. The other thing, too, I want to make sure people know is where is the best place to go online to keep up with everything that the Gray Curtain is doing.
Speaker 13: Pretty much Facebook, Instagram, Gray Curtain.
Speaker 6: I was going to say anywhere. Anywhere except Amazon Music for some reason. Oh, really? I think the last two times we were here, that's what I basically said.
Speaker 5: I remember you saying that. Yeah.
Speaker 6: I think someone brought it up at Cellar. The reason is because we didn't check the box online. I was like, oh, okay.
Speaker 5: You got to check the box.
Speaker 6: Yeah.
Speaker 12: CD, baby.
Speaker 5: Check the box.
Speaker 6: Yeah. Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Facebook, Instagram. We're all over the place, man.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. Guys, thank you so much. This has been wonderful. Dennis and Troy, thank you both.
Speaker 13: Thank you so much for having us.
Speaker 5: Absolutely.
Speaker 6: Anytime you need us, want us, we're here, Matt. We love you. That's wonderful.
Speaker 5: No, same. And thanks for playing live. That was a really cool surprise. Of course. Absolutely. And, of course, thank you to everybody who joined us today. Speaker 7: I don't want to write. I don't want to hold. I don't want to write. I don't want to call.
Speaker 3: The punches like the others do I don't need to hear your opinion on my life.
Speaker 8: I can't seem.
Speaker 7: To find motivation to leave this room.
Speaker 3: No, I just need shelter. I just needed somewhere to hide.
Speaker 5: Feels like it's raining every day.
Speaker 10: I forget how the sunshine feels.
Speaker 14: Thank you.
