Speaker 1: The moment of virtue is all gone.
Speaker 2: Now you say goodbye.
Speaker 1: The moment I hurt you The moment that I lost my mind You're.
Speaker 3: Like cinnamon.
Speaker 4: I'm a sour man.
Speaker 5: We clash when we're together.
Speaker 6: And this impotent understand he fails with every endeavor.
Speaker 7: Oh, Benito, calm me down. The bottle me true thought of you out of my mind guitar solo.
Speaker 5: Last chance redemption Was feasible at one time And I.
Speaker 8: Know Will I make a break From all these bound mistakes Lord.
Speaker 9: I.
Speaker 3: The needle calmed me.
Speaker 4: Down.
Speaker 8: The bottle, it held me true. The needle calmed me down.
Speaker 8: The thought of you out of my mind guitar.
Speaker 10: Solo Bye. call me down.
Speaker 7: A bottle and help me.
Speaker 3: Drown the needle.
Speaker 11: The thought of it held me true. The thought of you out of mind.
Speaker 12: Oh, that's so good.
Speaker 13: Can't quite say the name of the title on the air, but we'll call it P-Drunk Outside of Bars Leaving Voicemails. The band is The Gray Curtain, and we've got Troy and Dennis here with us in studio from the band. We're going to talk with them in a couple minutes, and they're going to play live, which is really cool, which will be a first for them on the show. And let's see. So we'll get these guys in here. So we've got Dennis is with us.
Speaker 12: Hello, Dennis.
Speaker 9: Hey, Matt.
Speaker 5: Good to be back.
Speaker 12: And now this is.
Speaker 13: Always the real test because, um, so Troy is over there, but I got to bring these mics up in a way that, uh, is going to work for us because he's playing guitar. So we've got him on a little bit of a different setup.
Speaker 12: Hey, Troy.
Speaker 14: Hey, how's it going? Thanks for having us, man.
Speaker 12: Yeah, you sound good.
Speaker 14: Thank you.
Speaker 12: Let me actually, I'm going to turn this up and turn that down.
Speaker 13: And then can you strum that guitar a little bit for me?
Speaker 12: Ooh, that sounds nice.
Speaker 5: It does.
Speaker 12: Yeah. Glad we plugged that in.
Speaker 13: So, um, Part of the reason you guys are here, of course, is next weekend is Swarmy Fest.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 13: And it's early this year. Usually it's in November. This year we got September. September 19th at Juul. So you guys are playing, of course, and excited. Did you guys play Swarmy Fest before?
Speaker 12: I can't remember.
Speaker 3: No.
Speaker 5: I was in attendance.
Speaker 12: Right.
Speaker 5: Like a year or two ago when it was over at Tapello. Oh, okay. But no, I... We've never performed Swarmy Fest. Yeah, this is our first year.
Speaker 9: Wow.
Speaker 15: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Cool, cool.
Speaker 13: Yeah, really looking forward to it. Jenny and I will be there, of course. And this show is one of the sponsors of the event. And I should give people just quickly, I'm dying to hear you guys play, but I should give people quickly the lineup. So, of course, it is at Jewel Music Venue, 61 Canal Street. And, you know, of course, it won't mean anything to people who are just listening to the show who don't know the area, but it's literally across the street from the radio station here over at Jewel.
Speaker 12: Great, great venue.
Speaker 13: Doors open at seven. So we got Sepsis, PH, Teak Sarah. I'm sure I'm not saying that anywhere near correctly. The Gray Curtain, of course, you guys. Grim the Acronym, Elder P. Sloan, who were on the show with us recently, Singe, and 3FD. And of course, Loud Entertainment is officially the promoter. And of course, our friends in Sepsis who put on the show and will be headlining that night. And it's a lot of fun. So want to get lots of people there. And, um, I think last year it might've sold out. I'm not sure, but, um, yeah, it's always, uh, always really good.
Speaker 13: Oh, also, uh, dancers, uh, the official Swarmy Fest dancers, the Blood Witch and Reminisce.
Speaker 12: Um, wait, am I saying that right? Yeah, I think so. It's just Reminisce, but just spelled differently. They were, I think they were there last year too.
Speaker 13: Um, what, what's new with you guys? What's been going on with the Gray Curtain? Anything specific we should know about?
Speaker 5: Just a whole lot of writing.
Speaker 14: Continuing on getting this album together. We're making pretty good progress, I think. We got pretty much the bones are there for all the songs. We just need to build it up more completely.
Speaker 5: There's a few songs that we've written quite recently that we're very excited for just to be able to play out live, let alone for people to be able to stream it on like Spotify or anything like that. We're very excited for these students.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 14: I was definitely excited to, you know, for this interview specifically to like, you know, bring something new to the table. Cause it's, I mean, it's always a great time to come here, but it's kind of going to be talking about the same things that we always talk about, you know, Show you guys what we're doing.
Speaker 13: No, I appreciate that. I appreciate that. Oh, and we were talking too off air. So this is officially you're now in the five-timers club on the show.
Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember you bringing it up last time. I was like, no, no, we need one more.
Speaker 13: I forgot to bring a jacket for you guys. But I don't know what you would even do, though, because you'd have to do this, two of you.
Speaker 5: We'd share it.
Speaker 12: Because we only supply one jacket per guest.
Speaker 5: We could share it. We do like the Siamese twins thing.
Speaker 16: Right, right.
Speaker 5: He's in one sleep, I'm in the other. It's fine. It's good.
Speaker 12: Well, I'm dying to hear you guys play.
Speaker 9: Awesome.
Speaker 12: What are you going to share with us today?
Speaker 14: First song is called, is it? Make Me Whole?
Speaker 4: Yep.
Speaker 14: We're going to be doing, it's a brand new one.
Speaker 12: So this is a new one. All right. Brand new from Sepsis, live in studio.
Speaker 5: All right. Great curtain. Great curtain.
Speaker 12: Oh, the great curtain. I'm sorry. Sepsis, see, I'm thinking about next week.
Speaker 13: And Sepsis has never played live in studio.
Speaker 1: Oh, really?
Speaker 13: Yeah, they never have. But until today, neither do you guys. Who knows what the future may bring? The Gray Curtain, live in the studio.
Speaker 12: Here we go.
Speaker 5: Feeling cold, broken and paralyzed. Strings of a violin play me.
Speaker 3: Out of this place.
Speaker 17: The strength of the violin, scoring the violins, prelude the silence.
Speaker 18: So ring in the violins Let.
Speaker 3: Him run from the gun.
Speaker 19: Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let.
Speaker 3: Him die Let him run from.
Speaker 5: The gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him.
Speaker 3: Die Dreaming of when I was.
Speaker 20: Awake Fearing one day I'd sleep forever Dreaming of when I was awake.
Speaker 19: Fearing one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 21: Scoring the violence Reload.
Speaker 3: The silence.
Speaker 18: Bringing the violence Let him run, run the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run, run the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run, run the gun Let him cry.
Speaker 21: Let him die Let him die.
Speaker 5: Let him die, let him die.
Speaker 11: Dreaming of when I was awake.
Speaker 19: Hearing one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 3: Dreaming of when I was awake.
Speaker 2: Here in one day I'd sleep forever.
Speaker 21: We love the violent.
Speaker 5: Scoring the violence.
Speaker 18: Bringing the silence To ring in the violence Let him run from the gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let him cry.
Speaker 4: Let him die Let him run from the.
Speaker 19: Gun Let him cry, let him die Let him run from the gun Let.
Speaker 3: Him cry, let him die.
Speaker 12: Nice. That's awesome.
Speaker 13: The Gray Curtain with us live in studio. So that's a brand new one, huh?
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: I don't know if you.
Speaker 14: Can see how shaking I am.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I was going to say, that is brand new out of the oven. You can tell because there were a couple of moments where I was like, what's the lyric?
Speaker 12: Hold on.
Speaker 5: Let me.
Speaker 12: Yeah, that's all right.
Speaker 5: But yeah, we played that.
Speaker 4: Out once, I think.
Speaker 14: Yeah, once at a. was that Kodo and Lowell?
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 14: Like the last show that we ever did.
Speaker 9: Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 5: That was, that was a, that was a good show though.
Speaker 14: I think they closed because of that song.
Speaker 12: No, I'm just kidding. Oh no.
Speaker 5: I think they were, yeah, it seems to be a trend. You know, we play, the place closes down.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Well, well, very good.
Speaker 13: So what, what should we know about the new album in terms of, I know we talked about it last time, but in terms of the, the theme and the story, is it a continuation of, The previous one, or.
Speaker 5: Sort of?
Speaker 14: It's all kind of like interweaving stories within the universe, yeah.
Speaker 9: Yep.
Speaker 4: Okay.
Speaker 5: Basically, the first album, Shadow of a Man, was about Nathan Knoth, who dives into a world of addiction and depression after his wife goes missing and is presumed dead. The second album is about a local florist who is... for all intents and purposes, drugged and begins to hear the voice of his since past wife telling him to bury the women of the town into the ground so she may rise from the soil. It's one for the kids. And then this new one, the storyline is basically the mayor of the town that all of these characters are trapped in You know, basically out of pure boredom, gives two killers that he knows very well.
Speaker 5: One is an assassin who is kind of under his payroll, and the other is a killer of vengeance. He's trying to find the murderer of his family that also put him in a coma. And when he wakes up, he is trapped in the town of Apathy. You know, everything that he loved is gone. So he sort of becomes the monster. And Shoal gives him a list. Shoal being the name of the demon mayor of the town of Apathy. And each list has ten names on it. And kind of
Speaker 5: in this nice little way, the album is planned to be a double album for this reason. Oh, okay. one album's going to be based on one killer going through their list and the story of them going through each person and the story of why each person is on the list and everything. And the second album will be about the other.
Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
Speaker 5: And it all kind of culminates in what I... I honestly absolutely love the way that this story... You know, the last album was very, I think, M. Night Shyamalan type of like twist ending. But this is, you know, because I'm such a movie buff. I love stories. I love movies. I love theater. And when we put out the first album, it was kind of a melodrama, you know, very leaving Las Vegas vibe. Um, the second album was more akin to an A24 film where like, you know, like midsummer or uh hereditary heretic and then this album's going to be more akin to a john woo uh action film starring like bruce willis okay you know like back in the 90s yeah uh i'm i'm really looking forward to uh.
Speaker 14: The way I see it, it's kind of like falling down and Kill Bill kind of together.
Speaker 5: Falling down. You know, I wouldn't have even thought of that.
Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: Falling down. I'm going home.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 14: Someone just having the worst imaginal moment. imaginable time.
Speaker 5: You know what? He is sort of like Michael Douglas in that film.
Speaker 12: So do you have any kind of an ETA on... Probably not, right? Sometime next year, do you think?
Speaker 5: That's what I'm hoping. I'm hoping because it was not planned this way, but it was kind of serendipitous. Both albums... In the past, we're released in October.
Speaker 12: Okay.
Speaker 5: So I'm hoping that this album is also out in October, whether that be next year or the year after. We're a quintessential October kind of band. With our stage show and the way that we present ourselves, we love the fall. We love, especially in New England, being a New England band, Like, the fall is just the best.
Speaker 14: Love the spooky time.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 14: As soon as September 1st hit, we were like, get the Halloween decorations out.
Speaker 5: Yeah. That's it.
Speaker 4: I hate it.
Speaker 14: Oh, no.
Speaker 4: I do.
Speaker 5: I really do.
Speaker 12: Oh, how can you hate it? Because summer is my favorite time of year.
Speaker 19: Oh, yeah.
Speaker 12: And I always hate to see it go away.
Speaker 14: Yeah. That is the thing. It's like, winter is coming.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah.
Speaker 12: That's why I hate it.
Speaker 5: The only month I absolutely hate living up here is February.
Speaker 17: Really?
Speaker 5: Yeah. That's it.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 22: Yeah.
Speaker 5: You will be hard-pressed to see the gray curtain plate anywhere up here in February. It's like, nope, nope, I'm going to be hibernating. There are times where I won't even leave the house. If there's a new video game or a new series or whatnot, right now I'm way behind because it finished a long time ago, but I am just binge-watching Boardwalk Empire because I love Steve Buscemi.
Speaker 12: Yeah, me too.
Speaker 13: I've never seen the series, but I've always heard that. People have always told me I'd really like it.
Speaker 14: Oh, it's great.
Speaker 5: It's basically, if you've watched one HBO series in the last 10 years, I could say it's like Game of Thrones during the Prohibition era. And I'd be right. But I could also say it's like any other HBO series where it's like, five or six different storylines happening at the same time. There's murder, there's theft, there's conniving characters sneaking behind everybody's back. It's a lot of intrigue. It's awesome.
Speaker 12: I'd probably like that. Do you guys want to play another one?
Speaker 5: Yeah, sure. Absolutely.
Speaker 13: So if you're just joining us, we have the Gray Curtain here with us, live in studio.
Speaker 14: There's another new one. Another brand new one. A brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 12: All right.
Speaker 5: We only played this once, and that was last weekend?
Speaker 4: Yes.
Speaker 12: Oh, okay. This is very new.
Speaker 4: Yes. All right.
Speaker 12: I just want to make sure.
Speaker 4: Ah.
Speaker 12: Ah.
Speaker 3: There's an angel in white Stands in the light.
Speaker 21: I can see.
Speaker 8: Her I hear her singing.
Speaker 18: Oh happy day, oh happy day When she rushes to me she.
Speaker 5: Can see I'm broken Do you ask me, sir?
Speaker 4: Do you believe in God?
Speaker 5: I used to see God's face in the.
Speaker 18: Eyes of the one I treasured But she left me broken So did he Oh, the disdain that I feel.
Speaker 5: For God Masked behind a thin facade So I say.
Speaker 21: As long as I could walk I've been running.
Speaker 3: As long as I could fly.
Speaker 18: I've been falling down.
Speaker 2: As long as I could see, I've been blinded. As long as I could love, I've been full of pain.
Speaker 4: And yet I cling.
Speaker 5: One brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 3: Guitar solo Storm floods.
Speaker 5: Started circling around above us So I said, Angel.
Speaker 4: This time you went home There are plenty of others who could use your faith and kindness I am broken
Speaker 4: I can't be saved.
Speaker 19: So she bowed her head in the pouring rain Prayed to God.
Speaker 11: To ease my pain.
Speaker 4: So I said.
Speaker 11: As long as I could walk I've been running As long as I could climb, I've been falling down As long as I could see, I've been blinded.
Speaker 16: As long as.
Speaker 19: I could love, I've been full of hate And yet I cling to one brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 21: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The world upon my shoulders, a light above my head.
Speaker 5: The world upon my shoulders, a light above my head.
Speaker 16: A world upon my shoulders.
Speaker 3: Right above my head. A world upon my shoulders.
Speaker 5: So I say, as.
Speaker 2: Long as I could walk, I've been running.
Speaker 16: As long as I could climb.
Speaker 11: I've been falling down.
Speaker 16: As long as I could.
Speaker 2: See I've been blinded.
Speaker 11: As long as I could love. I've been full of hate, and yet I.
Speaker 7: Think the one.
Speaker 3: Brief glimpse of hope.
Speaker 3: Wow, that is beautiful.
Speaker 3: Thank you.
Speaker 13: Absolutely if you're just joining us the gray curtain is here with us alive in studio and uh no that's a that's a hell of a song that's really good thank you so much absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 5: That was uh i i mentioned this at cellar but uh that was years and years in the making of my relatives especially my mother asking me why i don't write anything happy oh no kidding yeah that's about as close to happy as I can write.
Speaker 14: Happy adjacent. There's some major chords in there.
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 12: Now, is that one that you've recorded yet?
Speaker 5: We have not recorded yet. We have not had a chance to get into the studio, but through the help of various sources, we know where we're going to be recording. We know like who's going to be recording us. And, uh, we're, we're honestly, we're like, we're at that point where it's like, we're getting things in order to, uh, to get the new album prepped and ready to be recorded. But, you know, there's still, uh, there's still some writing to do. There's still like, you know, some parts to write and take out and, you know, reformulate and whatnot.
Speaker 5: Um, cause we don't, And it was the same with the last lineup. If anything feels half-assed, we don't put it on the album.
Speaker 18: Yeah.
Speaker 5: And we have to be proud of each and every track, because if any track falters as far as the quality of the album, it also... takes away from the story that we're telling. It also takes away from the performance when we're on stage.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: So, um, you know, we, I would say like every song that we've written so far, we're very, like very excited about, we're very proud of.
Speaker 12: Good.
Speaker 14: Absolutely.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Whether they be, uh, you know, four, four, you know, like verse, chorus, verse, chorus, you know, pop song, or whether they have like eight, different parts that would make Maynard James Keenan go, guys, guys. Well, very good.
Speaker 12: Well, Troy, so you have another guitar.
Speaker 14: Yes, I did a costume change.
Speaker 12: Excellent, excellent.
Speaker 13: Well, in that case, I think we should hear another live one. The Gray Curtain is here with us live in studio. What are you going to play?
Speaker 14: We're going to go with Short Term Solution, I think.
Speaker 12: Okay.
Speaker 5: I know this song. This was my brother's favorite song.
Speaker 12: Oh, no kidding.
Speaker 5: When he was on his deathbed, even when the nurses were trying to tend to him, he would stop them and tell them, yeah, I'll be right with you, but listen to my brother. Listen to this song that my brother wrote.
Speaker 4: Wow.
Speaker 5: I miss him every day.
Speaker 3: You're on?
Speaker 15: Nice.
Speaker 12: There we go.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 14: Hold on. There was something with this guitar that like the lower string is a little thumpy.
Speaker 3: Oh, let's go down.
Speaker 12: No worries.
Speaker 3: Let's go down.
Speaker 14: Do some adjustments here.
Speaker 23: Sorry.
Speaker 12: Yeah, no, not at all.
Speaker 5: We'll be right up. We'll be right back. Yeah, he was, uh, he was my, he was the big influence on me. Every, uh, He never, honestly, he never had a chance to see me perform.
Speaker 12: Oh, no kidding.
Speaker 5: He basically had to go from videos. He saw me performing choruses and things like that, but especially not with this band. He was, as Red and Shawshank would say, he was institutionalized the majority of his life. So anytime that he would be released from prison, he would do something to go back.
Speaker 3: Okay.
Speaker 5: You know, he had a very hard life. But, you know, I didn't even write this song for him. It was based on me. But the fact that he loved it so much means so much to me. So anytime that we play it, I have to say it was his favorite.
Speaker 4: Wow.
Speaker 5: Okay.
Speaker 3: All right.
Speaker 14: All right.
Speaker 21: I don't want to.
Speaker 5: Write I don't want to hold I don't want.
Speaker 3: To write.
Speaker 5: I don't wanna code I don't wanna roll with the punches like the others do I don't need to hear your opinion on my life I can't seem to find motivation To leave this room, no, I just need shelter from the outside God set me free from this insanity.
Speaker 3: One more round.
Speaker 19: And I'm on my way I just need it somewhere to hide Feels like it's raining every day. I forget how the sunshine feels now.
Speaker 9: One more round, bartender. One more round. Give me one more round. one more round.
Speaker 8: Guitar solo.
Speaker 5: There is a need to look eye to eye.
Speaker 11: With the problem in the far-room mirror.
Speaker 16: I'm too ashamed.
Speaker 11: To face him. I don't understand the dilemma.
Speaker 3: With this world around me, I just can't take all the stress anymore.
Speaker 11: I can't seem to find motivation.
Speaker 3: To leave this stool no higher than me.
Speaker 11: I need to resign.
Speaker 18: God set me free from this insanity.
Speaker 5: One more round and it's.
Speaker 3: On my way.
Speaker 19: I just needed somewhere to hide.
Speaker 8: It feels like it's raining every day.
Speaker 3: I forgot how.
Speaker 11: The sunshine feels now.
Speaker 3: One more round.
Speaker 11: Bartender, one more round.
Speaker 3: Give me one more round.
Speaker 8: Bye. Thank you.
Speaker 21: God set me free From this insanity One more round on my way.
Speaker 2: I just needed somewhere to hide.
Speaker 3: It feels like it's raining every day.
Speaker 8: I forget how the sunshine fails now.
Speaker 11: One more round bartender one more round give me one more round one more round.
Speaker 3: One more.
Speaker 12: Oh my God. That's so good. The gray curtain here with us live in studio. Great job guys.
Speaker 5: Thank you.
Speaker 14: Thank you.
Speaker 12: Absolutely. Absolutely.
Speaker 5: I've been over here afraid I'm like crackling the mic.
Speaker 12: So I'm like, no, you're doing great though.
Speaker 5: You're doing great.
Speaker 8: All right.
Speaker 12: I wish everyone who sings like you knew how to do that. Not everyone who sings like you does.
Speaker 5: I've had some real drill sergeant, uh, voice instructors and, uh, uh, voice teachers, uh, Yeah, basically, like, do this with me a lot.
Speaker 12: Right.
Speaker 5: You know, if I slouch, like, I'm pretty sure I am just being, like, in the position that I am.
Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: Like, I can still feel my chorus teacher, Mr. Adam Kearns. If you're out there, Mr. Adam Kearns, I, you know, I still remember any time that I would slouch in any way, pressing on my stomach, pushing on my back.
Speaker 8: Yep.
Speaker 5: I'm good.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: Yeah. He was a good man.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Excellent. Excellent.
Speaker 13: Uh, the gray curtain is here with us live in studio and they will be at swarmy fest, uh, coming up on Saturday, the 19th at a jewel music venue. And, uh, we always look forward to swarmy fest every year. Um, do you guys want to, uh, before time gets short, do you want to play one more?
Speaker 3: Yeah.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 12: I'm done. I'm done here.
Speaker 5: Another one.
Speaker 14: I'm down for one more.
Speaker 8: Yeah.
Speaker 12: You guys want to do one more?
Speaker 5: Yeah, we can do another one.
Speaker 15: Yeah.
Speaker 14: We got a cover. Uh, That we can do?
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14: Do you want to do that one?
Speaker 5: Yeah, let's do that.
Speaker 1: All right.
Speaker 12: What is it?
Speaker 5: This is... Go ahead. Oh, my God.
Speaker 14: My mind just went blank. Mad Season.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I was going to say, not Alice in Chains.
Speaker 14: Not Alice in Chains. Mad Season, River of Deceit.
Speaker 15: Oh, wow.
Speaker 13: I haven't... I haven't heard that song in probably a couple decades, literally. Great song, though. Great choice.
Speaker 14: We broke this one out a couple times, and people are like, oh, my God.
Speaker 5: Yeah. Why don't you guys play that all the time?
Speaker 12: Because they only did the one album, right?
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 12: Because they were a super group, and they just, yeah, super groups usually only do one album.
Speaker 5: Usually, yeah. It seems to be the trend with a lot of the covers that are being thrown around in our band.
Speaker 9: Really?
Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Like, we're all like, oh, wait. What was the other one that was brought up recently? Oh, Temple of the Dog.
Speaker 4: Oh, really?
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, yeah, we'll do a Temple of the Dog song, absolutely.
Speaker 12: Yeah, I can imagine you guys doing Hunger Strike. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5: Especially with Sean and Troy's harmonies with me.
Speaker 12: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I'm looking forward to doing stuff like that.
Speaker 12: Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. All right, the Gray Curtain live in the studio.
Speaker 3: Guitar solo guitar solo.
Speaker 8: My pain Is so frozen At.
Speaker 16: Least So the prophet.
Speaker 11: Says I could either.
Speaker 3: Burn Or.
Speaker 16: Cut off my pride and.
Speaker 3: Buy some time.
Speaker 2: A head full of lies does no weight Tie.
Speaker 3: It to my waist.
Speaker 16: The river of the.
Speaker 23: Sea goes down, yeah The.
Speaker 5: Only direction that slows.

Speaker 22: My pain is self-chosen at.
Speaker 19: Least So the prophet says.
Speaker 8: I could either.
Speaker 23: Drown I pulled off my skin and swam to.
Speaker 11: Shore Now I have.
Speaker 21: Grown a beautiful shell.
Speaker 16: Over all the sea The river.
Speaker 3: Of the sea goes down, yeah The old man.

Speaker 21: Our pain is self-closing.
Speaker 11: Down, oh down Down.
Speaker 3: Oh down.
Speaker 16: Down, oh down Down, oh down.
Speaker 12: I've got chills, guys. That was amazing. I did not expect that. That was a really, really cool surprise.
Speaker 13: If you're just joining us, we have the Gray Curtain here with us live in the studio. Like I said, I haven't heard that song in a really long time, but that was fantastic.
Speaker 14: Love that one.
Speaker 4: Absolutely.
Speaker 12: Absolutely.
Speaker 13: So before we run out of time, so two things. One is, of course, we want to remind everybody about Swarmy Fest coming up Saturday the 19th, and obviously you guys will be there. Doors open at 7 at Jewel Music Venue at 61 Canal Street, right across the street, actually. which is cool because I just park over here and walk over.
Speaker 12: But don't tell anybody.
Speaker 14: It's definitely going to be fun. We've played with 3FD and Grimm before. I love Grimm.
Speaker 5: I love Grimm.
Speaker 14: Shout out to Devin.
Speaker 13: So the thing about Grimm, the acronym, we were supposed to have them on the show recently, and they canceled because I guess one of the guys is leaving or did leave.
Speaker 14: Devin, I think, was doing stuff with Young Other on tour with Lacey Sturm. Oh, okay.
Speaker 1: Yeah.
Speaker 14: I'm friends with all those guys.
Speaker 12: Oh, okay.
Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14: In the loop on that, but yeah.
Speaker 3: Blame excuse.
Speaker 14: I know, right?
Speaker 13: So I was told, I mean, I don't know if this still holds true, and you probably know better than me that Grimm is, after the show, they're taking a break?
Speaker 14: I'm not too sure about that, but I do know that Devin is... kind of going full in with uh we're not full in but like more involved with a young other so gotcha gotcha i would assume yeah that explains it i don't want to speak for him but that's.
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah and then you know 3fd we did a show in maine with those guys uh what two years ago uh.
Speaker 14: Yeah, like two years ago.
Speaker 5: Yeah, it was two years ago over at... Charlie's Hill. Charlie's Hill.
Speaker 12: Oh, okay. Cool. Yeah, I haven't seen them. I'm not familiar with them at all, actually.
Speaker 5: Yeah, they're good. They're fun.
Speaker 14: They're a fun group of guys.
Speaker 12: Elder P. Sloan we had on the show recently. They were a lot of fun.
Speaker 5: They were really cool. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to the bands that I haven't heard.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: You know, I'm always interested in checking out the other bands. Sepsis and Grey Curtain, like, we've played a lot of shows on, like, We were on the same set. Right, right. But, you know, it's like they would play this stage, you know, in this room, and then we'd play this stage in this room, and our camps never really intersected until probably a year or two ago. Yes, I remember it. So, yeah, we're looking forward to it. I mean, we've only played the Jewel once, and that was a great time.
Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, that was the first time we saw you.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 12: It was at Jewel, yeah.
Speaker 4: Yep, yep.
Speaker 5: Yeah, that was a good time. I mean, nine times out of ten, any time that we do a show for Justin, Justin Marcotte, we end up having a good time. Yeah, it's a good time.
Speaker 14: And he always books great bands.
Speaker 5: Yeah, bands that we get along with, bands that we like musically. But then again, that's not exactly a high bar given the scene and the talent in it.
Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 13: So much great talent here. The other thing, too, I want to make sure people know is where is the best place to go online to keep up with everything that the Gray Curtain is doing.
Speaker 14: Pretty much Facebook, Instagram, Gray Curtain.
Speaker 5: I was going to say anywhere. Anywhere except Amazon Music for some reason. Oh, really? I think the last two times we were here, that's what I basically said.
Speaker 12: I remember you saying that.
Speaker 4: Yeah.
Speaker 5: I think someone brought it up at Cellar. The reason is because we didn't check the box online. I was like, oh, okay.
Speaker 12: You got to check the box.
Speaker 9: Yeah.
Speaker 5: CD, baby. Check the box. Yeah. Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Facebook, Instagram. We're all over the place, man.
Speaker 12: Absolutely. Guys, thank you so much. This has been wonderful. Dennis and Troy, thank you both.
Speaker 14: Thank you so much for having us.
Speaker 5: Absolutely. Anytime you need us, want us, we're here, Matt. We love you.
Speaker 12: That's wonderful. No, same. And thanks for playing live. That was a really cool surprise.
Speaker 24: Of course.
Speaker 9: Absolutely.
Speaker 12: Absolutely. All right. Bye, everybody.
